Imagine you were a Stone Age person coming to life today. Would you be astounded at the extent the world has come? All the technological advancements that make life much easier, the ability to communicate with people all over the world. The abundant access to all types of information right at your fingertips in addition to the ease of mobility and travel. Would the stone age person laugh at our complaints about how we don’t have this and that? Focus on factors within your control, stir your energy on things which you do have and not what you don’t have. Even though there are global challenges with the economy as a whole, as long as you have initiative and are willing to become accountable to yourself, you can make it to your desired destination. It’s the mindset of sitting around and waiting for others to create opportunities for you or going out there and doing it yourself.

How do you hold yourself accountable in your planning and goal-achieving?

Work hard

Monday, April 29, 2013

Yesterday’s easier world of microwave-type solutions and numerous opportunities for people in certain industries is over. The world is simply changing and some industries are just not coming back. Your parents’ world of guaranteed pensions after college degrees is no longer viable. You simply can’t afford to outsource your security to corporations anymore. Whether big or small, the job producers will look after no.1, their bottom-line first and foremost, so if they can become more efficient shipping jobs overseas or consolidating locations, they will. You must take initiative to produce your own income. As larger companies struggle to adjust to the new changing world, it presents opportunity to those that dare to determine their own destinies. An entire generation was spoiled to a certain degree for a long time, now you simply must be prepared to put in the hard work. It won’t be easy, but it will be worth it in the end. Commit to work harder than anybody else in your target industry.

What happens when a world transforms faster than the educational system can adjust?

What does it mean to fulfill one’s potential? Is that really possible? What is your potential.? How can you measure it? The human potential is infinite. The universe granted you powers to accomplish as much as you are willing to push yourself. If you ever fall short on an enterprise, you can’t simply say it was due to a lack of talent. You can substitute talent for hard work, dedication and application. Accountability is taking full responsibility of how you wish to live your life. Sure you may have to overcome challenges that other people may never even contemplate let alone overcome. It’s a badge of honor to reach your goals despite of seemingly insurmountable obstacles in your way. Those that have it easy are denied the opportunity to experience that sense of true accomplishment in life. Your mind becomes stronger when you hold it accountable. When you fall short of a goal, own up to it, don’t seek excuses.

Who’s fault is it should you fall short of any goals, your parents, society, the govt or you?

The voice within

Monday, January 14, 2013

As a human being, your potential is limitless. It then becomes a case of how you choose to measure your own existence. At the end of the day, no matter who you are whether a superstar or just your average Joe or Jane on the street, you will be accountable to yourself. The lights have to go down at the end of the day when it’s just you, yourself and you. At that moment how will you answer yourself? How will you respond to that voice inside? That voice that knows you better than anybody in the world! That voice that you can’t trick, deceive or fool! That voice that knows the authentic you. It knows all your insecurities and fears. Unless you are a top notch actor of the highest order, there’s no getting around it, you may be able to hide out for a while, but the day will come where you will have to answer.

Who is accountable for your chosen path in life at the end of the day?

Connect your passion

Monday, November 5, 2012

Highly successful people love what they do. They are generally very good at what they do and get well rewarded for it, however there are others who work for free because they have passion for what they do. They volunteer their time because doing what they love gives them more life. In your quest to reach your desired goals, you may have to do certain activities you don’t enjoy as much; You have to keep your eyes on the big picture. Keep it firmly ingrained in your mind that you have to pay your dues and sacrifice to be able to live the life of your dreams. Brainstorm specifically to discover ways to connect your passion to your least favored activities. If scientists can split the atom and develop complex formulas and equations, why can’t you use your ingenuous mind to connect your passion? Surely, living a life of passion shouldn’t be rocket science. Learn to think differently, you can find answers within following your passion and thinking outside the box, way outside.

Brainstorm multiple times how to connect your passion to your least favored activities.

Do or do not

Monday, October 15, 2012

Desire to succeed at all costs alone sets apart those who make it from people that quit. Like Yoda said in Star Wars, you either ‘do or do not.’ There’s no trying when it comes to using your mind and desire to succeed in life. You must simply issue an ultimatum to yourself that failure is not an option. It’s that single-minded desire to succeed that will have your mind programmed 24/7 on finding ways for you to accomplish your goals. Why not shoot for the moon and if you miss it, you may still end up in the stars. People all around the world fail to ask enough of themselves, their minds are perfectly capable of delivering much more if only they can change the way they think. Desire means loving the work you do, fall in love with your profession, it brings stimulation that can open doors. That of course leads to more connections and more possibilities for opportunities.

Can any obstacles hinder you when you have true desire to succeed?

Passion of conviction

Monday, October 1, 2012

Passion means conviction. When you have genuine passion in what you pursue, it shows. It doesn’t look awkward or overdone in any way, it flows naturally, people can see it in you. Passion communicates your emotions in what you are doing. It draws people towards you. Passion commands attention. People love to be around those that show passion for what they do. Think about how many places one goes whether restaurants, places of business or just walking on the street and you see people looking sad or complaining about this or that. Observe some older people who are still able to work long after their peers have retired, that’s because they do it for more than the money, it’s passion that fuels them to keep going as long as they do. Passion is intense power that allows things to happen naturally, you are going with the flow of your body.

Do you show genuine passion for life and how can you increase your genuine passion to succeed?

Power within

Monday, September 17, 2012

One could probably find many talented people everywhere, however what it is more crucial is their desire and internal drive to succeed. All talented people encounter periods of challenges and obstacles where talent may not be enough to overcome, it then comes down to a matter of desire, the power within. Just like watching a sports program on tv, you can see talented ball players on the field, but what stands out to you is that player who seems to never give up on any plays. He’s not watching the score board, but gives it all he has and leaves it all out on the field. It may be evident that there are better players on the field, however he has internal drive, that non-stop motor that propels him to give more and harder than anybody else. Highly successful people often possess that burning desire to compete and succeed, sometimes it’s that power within that supersedes all the talent in the world.

Would you rather have more talent or desire?
